How does the Tydebox predict the tide height?

The tide height is generated by a prediction algorithm based on the day and time. No external communication is required. Once the time and date are set, no external input is required.

How do I read the time?

Across the front are numbers that represent the time of day. The 3 on the left is 3 AM and the 9 on the far right is 9PM. About 1” below each bar is a pin hole in the wood with a LED behind it. The current time of day will be illuminated. Use the numbers to approximate the current time.

How do I read the tide height?

Each bar has foot and 1/2 foot marks laser etched on them. The distance that the bar is extended represents the tide height in feet for that time of day.

How do I control the Tydebox?

There is an Apple and Android app used to control the Tydebox. See the App page for links and instructions on using the app.

What is the size of the Tydebox?

The box is 36" x 17 3/4" x 2". The bars will extend up to 9 1/2". It weighs 20 pounds.

What’s your return policy?

Because each Tydebox is built to order, Tydebox, LLC does not accept any returns.

Do you ship the Tydebox?

After being carefully boxed up in a custom made case, your Tydebox can be shipped via UPS or Fedex.

What locations are available for tidal data?

What if I move to a new tidal location or discover a bug in the software?

Each Tydebox comes with a small PCB that plugs into the back of the Tydebox. This will be used to update the firmware on the Tydebox. I will send you a new firmware file that is to be copied to the included uSD card. Insert the uSD card into the firmware update PCB and press the reset button. The firmware will update in less than 10 seconds.

Is there a warranty?

Tydebox, LLC warrants this product and its parts against defects in workmanship for 24 months from the original ship date. During this period, Tydebox, LLC will repair or replace defective parts without charge to you, at our discretion.

Tydebox, LLC is not liable for any loss, cost, expense, inconvenience or damage that may result from use or inability to use the products. Under no circumstances shall Tydebox LLC be liable for any loss, cost, expense, inconvenience, or damage exceeding the purchase price of the product.
